Dorith Graef is a Dutch comics artist, writer and editor based in Leiden. She has worked for the Dutch children's magazines Donald Duck and Tina of publishing house Sanoma since 2012, and is furthermore involved as an illustrator with girls' magazines and books related to horses. Among her self-created comics series are 'Blunder Bennie' (2015) and 'Nena's Vlog' (2019).

Life and career
Born in Eindhoven in 1988, Dorith Graef made her first comics for manga-related fanzines while still a teenager. During her studies in Arts, Japanese Language and Culture, Journalism and New Media in Leiden, she became a student intern at Sanoma's children's magazines Tina and Donald Duck in June 2012. During her internship and subsequent freelance association, she has worked as a web editor for both Tina and Donald Duck. As one of the rare interns with an actual knack for comics, she wrote scripts for the celebrity comics series based on Dutch singers Nick & Simon for Tina (2013, artwork by Rafa Ruiz) and Tina's title comic (2014-2015, artwork by Carmen Pérez). Since 2014 she has also written Disney comics with characters like 'Scamp', 'April, May and June' and the young 'Duckies'.

A true "horse girl", Dorith published the short-lived comic about riding school pony called 'Blunder Bennie' (2015). In May 2015 she became an online blogger and illustrator for horse-related magazine Bit. She quikly transitioned to the paper version of Bit with illustrations and her own column. In 2018 she was asked to illustrated the horse-related children's book 'Help, ik ben een pony!' by Gertud Jetten for publisher Kluitman.Dorith obviously has a creative mind with a strong urge for wordplay, irony and self-mockery, which she not only showcased on her own social media channels, but also on the group effort 'Oppervlakkige wijven' (2011-2016).

Since 2018 Dorith Graef is responsible for managing coloring and other art chores for the Dutch Disney magazines of the publishing house Sanoma. To improve her own skills, she as inked a Disney comics story pencilled by Sander Gulien, and provided coloring to several editoral productions. She has also remained active for girls' magazine Tina. Since late 2018 she works with comics editor Bas Schuddeboom on the almost-monthly gag strip 'Nena's Vlog', about a young, goofy vlogger girl. The comic made its debut in Tina's vloggers-related issue #5 of 2019.
