Perles & Pirates

Clotka was born as Clotilde Szymanski in the countryside of Picardy, but moved to Paris at age 10. Drawing since her teens, she was studying at the School of Graphic Arts, when she started a blog 'Damned' with a couple of study friends. She released her first mini-comic, 'Service après-vente, bonjour!', through Danger Public in 2007. She then worked with Loïc Dauvillier on a graphic novel about human relationships and communication, called 'Les Équilibres instables' (Les Enfants Rouges, 2009). 2015 saw the publication of 'Perles & Pirates', her adventure comic in cooperation with Yoan Zaoui (Casterman). Clotka has furthermore participated in collective projects like 'Tribute to Popeye' (Charette, 2010, based on the eponymous character created by E.C. Segar), 'Les Nouveaux Pieds Nickelés' (Onapratut, 2010, based on 'Les Pieds Nickelés' by Louis Forton), 'Les Autres Gens' (Dupuis, 2011-2014) and 'Comment je me suis fait plaquer...' (Dupuis, 2011).
